Today Geir run with the Turramurra Trotters for the last time. He get a good friend called Argeo. Eirik and Roberto had their evalutation reports, all A and B and good feedback's. Roberto get a C in computer skills. This makes me hope that he will not start at IDI. Today they played their last football games and they both won. Lunch with Eirik's team and dinner soon with Roberto's team. A lot of presents. from some good friends. I am running my last washing machine and I could not resist to write the last blog post.
I have packed my small black suitcase with all my belonging. I will now have three weeks in Pisa, where the mosquitoes are bigger than the tropical ones. The day after Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson's death, we leave Australia. Did I learn anything in Australia? I will think about it and read the blog posts tagged "australia" and possibly have an answer to this question. Good bye Australia!

I close for the Summer. In a week I will return to Europe and I will start working again at NTNU the 3rd of August. Australia has been a fantastic experience. I am looking forward to come home too. I publish this picture which I found on Corriere della Sera. It is a picture at Triennale di Milano Amref.

inside the house. this house is isolated wors than our summer cottage at Trolla. I have never being so cold since I was studying in Pisa in the 80's and we had moved into a big house and my mother had developed her life long strategy to save on heating and use money on cigarettes,  gourmet food, hair and alike.

We have a small gas oven which warms up 3 square meters in the family room. I do not have winter clothes apart from a couple of good pieces I do not want to use in the house. I walk around with a wool scarf around my head bought at Ila market last year that I brought to Australia by a fortunate mistake, Eirik's wool uniform from Pymble Public Primary school. Det finnes ikke dårlig klær bare dårlig vær - og dårlige isolerte hus.

Not a love at first sight, my relationship to Australia, but I have started to develop an affection to this country. I like Australia for its lovely food and weather and views, for the constant polite use of the words "nice" and "lovely" - words shape the world -, for being a Nation of immigrants, where everybody, in the end, is at home.

"Without them our planet would die" Note the Australian - Trønder accent, but no Italian I believe.

Title: A dialog about art with software engineering words

Professor Letizia Jaccheri is a Visiting Scholar with the Creativity & Cognition Studios, FEIT until June 2009. In her talk she will focus on the SArt project - software and art - illustrated by three main case studies: Flyndre, Sonic, Onyx and the Open Wall project. She will discuss issues related to Open Wall, its open architecture and its open source software. She has been working in the software engineering field since her Masters thesis in the late 1980s. Her projects have addressed software process modelling, object orientation, software engineering education, empirical software engineering and software engineering in a multi-disciplinary perspective. She will conclude with research questions related to her interdisciplinary work in the art, science and technology fields. The seminar will be as interactive as possible as her goal is to become acquainted with individual and groups with whom collaboration may be possible. Jaccheri's home page is http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~letizia/

the children and I went for a walk yesterday evening. it was already dark. I was tired and not so satisfied about my self after my trip to University/city. The night was beautiful with stars and moon and very very dark. We almost step over a dead animal. This morning we came back there and we found out it was a wombat. Roberto insists that it may not be dead but asleep.

Why am I not satisfied with me? I found very difficult to answer questions like "what is your project?". I get so upset that I do not have energy to ask questions back and I feel like a school girl who has not done her home work. I know I should answer "My theoretical knowledge in software engineering combined with practical experience and PhD supervision is not unproblematic and grounds in a interdisciplinary bullshit bullshit bullshit and this may lead to the conclusion that the wombat sleeps" But I have yet not learned to talk like this yet.

In italiano. Mi sento un po' inadeguata quando mi chiedono di parlare della mia ricerca, perche' non mi piace parlare per frasi fatte e ho troppo senso dell'umorismo e - non ci credete? - troppa poca fiducia in me per prendermi sul serio.

I will attend this launch event event tomorrow. Julia Burns is an artist based at creative and cognition. When they were talking about this "launch" I was understanding "lunch" and I was wondering why so late as 14.30. One can immagine how much we loose in translation. More after the event tomorrow, provided I reach the station, UTS, and then the Power House Museum. Yes I am a girl from small towns.
